this is all you need
This is the real deal. been using for a couple weeks now. So this is not a fake littmann. I used an HP for years which has great acoustics and very loud. This one is nearly as loud. You do have to put some pressure on the chest to get the higher pitched tones from the diaphragm. A little different from my HP in that respect. Construction is solid though. The weakest part is probably the spring between the ear pieces, so hopefully if I am careful I don't wear it out too soon. I would get the same again. No need to spend more for more expensive models.

A great, durable, and efficient stethoscope (as expected) from 3M Littmann
The Classic II S.E. is probably the golden standard in the healthcare industry nowadays, rivaled only by Littmann's own Cardiology III. Great acoustics, soft earpieces, a non-chill rim, and a durable tubing makes it well worth the price tag. I prefer the traditional bell/diaphragm as opposed to the newer "switch by applying less/more pressure" thing featured on the other Littmann scopes. If this thing ever dies (which I highly doubt), I'd go Littmann time and time again.

Great Scope
I'm always impressed with 3M's products as I live in the Midwest near where these products are made. I like to support the US economy so it only makes sense that I'd buy a quality American made product like this. It's not something that you buy at a chain store and it's cheaply made or doesn't work as it should, this is how it should be built. In fact, I bet you that your doctors and nurses use this exact model as it's the standard in the medical field. I sure noticed how many carry this exact model in various colors once I ordered one. It's well worth the price and I'd buy again.
